Civic Tech Fellows Program

Learn more about our Summer apprenticeship program

After participating in the inaugural White House Demo Day in 2015, Phone2Action founded the Civic Technology Fund to continue developing entrepreneurial spirit and support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

The Civic Tech Fellow Program is a STEM-based internship apprenticeship for students to gain valuable skills and experience in the field of civic technology. The Civic Tech Fellow program recruits minority, disabled, low-income, special needs, international students, and any student interested in technology innovation and civic engagement.

The apprenticeship is from June to August every year. Fellows work on a variety of projects based on interest and skills. Projects are often incorporated to our core products and have included a Live Map for engagement, automated testing, Benchmarking Tools and much more.

Fellow positions are available in every department:

  • Product
  • Engineering
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Customer Success
  • Operations

Throughout the Fellows program, Phone2Action hosts brown bag lunches and fireside chats to provide fellows with opportunities to learn and engage with business leaders, partners and clients.

"My summer at Phone2Action was a memorable one. I was provided with many opportunities to grow professionally and personally.  The Customer Success team is one of the best teams to work at in Phone2Action. The team takes care of one another and actively supports every team member’s development. Being able to work at a company that helps power movements is something that sticks with you forever and makes you strive for success regardless of what you're doing."

"The Civic Tech Fellow program was an incredible experience. I definitely learned a lot in every possible way. I was pushed out of my comfort zone in so many ways, and the experience prepared me very well for my current job. I learned. I applied, and I grew. And most importantly I built a lot of relationships that could help me in the future. I would totally recommend it."

"As a fellow at Phone2Action I was exposed to the various components of running a young company. The experience sharpened my public speaking skills and helped me understand what I value in a workspace. While at Phone2Action, I felt like a full member of the team and was given the opportunity to work on projects that contributed to major product releases."
